Overview
Yegua Creek is located at Somerville Lake near Somerville, Texas. The lake offers various types of recreation such as camping, fishing, boating, nature trails and much more for registered campers only.
Facilities
Yegua Creek Campground has 82 sites, 65 of which have 50-amp electrical and water hookups.
Flush toilets and showers are provided, as are picnic tables and fire rings. Two boat ramps, an interpretive trail, and dump station are located on-site.
Natural Features
The campground is situated on the shoreline of scenic Somerville Lake. Pelicans and other waterfowl frequent the shoreline.Recreation
Somerville Lake offers many opportunities for outdoor recreation. Water sports, hiking and biking are popular activities.White and hybrid-striped bass, crappie and catfish populate the lake, as well as largemouth bass which can reach 10 or more pounds.
Nearby Attractions
Rocky Creek Park is nearby, offering additional access to Somerville Lake and all its great water activities.The city of Somerville, Texas is less than 10 miles from Rocky Creek, offering restaurants and shops.
Important Notices
- No all-terrain or off-road vehicle use permitted in park
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
Check-out is 2:00pm; Check-in is 3:00pm. No Early arrivals allowed!
RV campsites: No more than two (2) camping units and a maximum of ten (10) campers are allowed per campsite. Camping units are defined as any of the following: 1) travel trailer, 2) motor homes, 3) pop-up trailer, 4) pick-up camper/van, and 5) tent. No more than one self-contained camping unit (1, 2, 3, and 4 above) may be placed on an electrical campsite.
Tent Only Campsites: No more than two (2) tents and a maximum of ten (10) campers are allowed per campsite.

Notifications and Alerts
The water will be shut off to all campsites beginning at noon on Friday the 23rd. All campers should plan to be self contained and disconnected from the water spigot by 10am on the 23rd. The water will remain shutoff through the weekend and into next week depending on weather changes. For any concerns please contact the Lake Office.

From Austin, Texas, take US 290 east to Brenham. Follow HWY 36 north 11.5 miles to FM 1948. Turn left and follow FM 1948 2.5 miles.
