In 1933 the Forest Service decided Mount Annie was an ideal location to erect a 60 foot tall lookout tower on Washingtons 84th most prominent peak. This tower served as a the summer lookout until 1956 when it was discovered that rot had hollowed out one of the legs. It was then dismantled in 1957.
This is a year around hike with limited views across the valley.
