Overview

The Mendocino National Forest manages the Red Bluff Recreation Area in Red Bluff, California. The sparkling Sacramento River runs adjacent to the Red Bluff Recreation Area and is accessible via a boat ramp onsite. This facility is open year-round except for periods of high wind or flooding.

The boat ramp is open to all watercraft, but is typically used by fishing boats. Parking is available in a large lot next to the boat ramp. Vault toilets and picnic tables are nearby and may be used for no additional fee. Visitors should follow boating safety regulations and be aware of fishing seasons. 

Passes are available for purchase in advance or onsite at the boat ramp. 

1. If purchasing in advance, please print your pass and place it on your vehicle's dashboard. 

2. If purchasing at the boat ramp using scan and pay, please ensure you have the Recreation.gov mobile app downloaded before arrival for ease of purchase. 

Scan and Pay functionality at the boat ramp is only available for a single day pass.

Additional fees are required to use the campgrounds.

All visitors must be able to display a valid pass at day use fee site when required. It is recommended that you have a valid digital pass or a printed copy of the pass available for verification.

The daily pass is valid until sundown on the date listed on the pass, and only for the date and for the individual specified for this pass. The annual pass is valid for one year after date of purchase.
