Parking lots often fill to capacity on weekends and wait times to enter the park can often exceed thirty minutes. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early (between 7am and 10am) or in the late afternoon after 4pm to lessen wait times and to have the best chance of finding open parking. When our parking lots reach capacity the United Sates Park Police will close the park entrance and visitors will need to postpone their visit until later in the day or return on another day for which their pass is valid. Refunds will not be offered.
Prior to purchasing a digital entrance pass visitors are encouraged to review the range of passes available to those aged 62+; those with permanent disabilities; families with students in the 4th grade; and active duty members of he US Armed Forces. Details about who is eligible for these passes, and how they can be obtained, can be found at https://www.nps.gov/grfa/planyourvisit/fees.htm Each of these passes are available at the park entrance station upon arrival. All others 16 years of age and older are required to pay an entrance fee at Great Falls Park. Please be prepared to show your hard copy pass or digital pass on your mobile device.
Passes are non-transferrable, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced.
If you plan to travel to or from Great Falls Park using a rideshare service, please be aware that cell reception is very limited at the park, and Wi-Fi is unavailable. If possible, plan your return ride before arriving at the park.
