Bandelier charges an entrance fee. You may purchase in advance (below) a 7-day or annual pass valid at Bandelier National Monument. If you plan to visit other national parks or federal lands, consider purchasing an Interagency Pass (Annual, Senior, Access, Military, etc.) upon arrival at the park. If you already own a valid entrance pass, you do not need to purchase any of the passes listed below.
Site Passes purchased on Recreation.gov are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Bandelier National Monument charges an entrance fee per vehicle. Individual Pedestrian/Cyclist passes are only required for persons entering without a vehicle.
All visitors 16 years of age and older are required to pay an entrance fee at Bandelier National Monument.Passes are non-transferrable, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced.
Passes must be printed off prior to visiting Bandelier. There is no WiFi at Bandelier and cell phone coverage is sparse inside Frijoles Canyon.
Please be prepared to show your hard copy pass to park staff at the Entrance Station (when staffed) or inside the Visitor Center.After checking in at the entrance station or visitor center, all passes must be displayed on the vehicle dashboard and be visible through the windshield at all times while in the park.

Frijoles Canyon, Tsankawi, and all park trails are open to recreation from dawn to dusk. Backpacking permits are required for overnight use and must be obtained up to 1 hour before closing at the Frijoles Canyon Visitor Center for any overnight stays in the park's backcountry. At this time backcountry permits may only be obtained over the phone. Call (505) 672-3861 for more info. You may book reservations in advance for Juniper or Ponderosa Group Campgrounds, which are open 24 hours.
