Steamtown National Historic Site Tickets
2025 Short Train Rides: Our short train rides will begin Saturday, May 2nd for the 2025 season!
They will operate on Saturday and Sunday in May and Friday through Sunday June 1st through November 2nd. Scheduled times of departure are 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 1:15PM, and 2:30PM on days that our longer excursion train rides are not in operation. A select number of tickets will be available for advanced purchase.
Tickets can be purchased on-site at the Information Kiosk, the day of your visit;
Ticket sales must be paid for by credit card only, no cash sales;
Each ticket is valid for unlimited rides for the date of purchase.
About our Short Train Rides
Scranton Limited: a 2-mile round trip ride lasting approximately 20-minutes. The locomotive travels through the rail yards, crosses the Lackawanna River, passes the historic Radisson at Lackawanna Station hotel and stops at the University of Scranton before returning to the Steamtown boarding area.
Nay Aug Limited: a 5-mile round trip ride lasting approximately 45-minutes. The locomotive travels through the rail yards, crosses the Lackawanna River, passes the historic Radisson at Lackawanna Station hotel, passes the University of Scranton, and briefly stops on the Nay Aug bridge before returning to the Steamtown boarding area.
Caboose Experience: a short 15 minute ride in our historic caboose within the park boundaries. It gives visitors a chance to experience what life was like at the back of the train. This experience is included with the purchase of a Scranton Limited ticket.

Need to Know
- Tour Safety
Train riders are reminded to remain seated, keep heads, hands, and arms inside the windows, and to use care when stepping up or down boarding and disembarking from the passenger coach.
