African Burial Ground National Monument Tours
Whether this is your first visit or if you are a returning visitor, the Guided Afternoon Tour is a wonderful introduction to the African Burial Ground National Monument. The Guided Afternoon Tour is roughly 60 minutes in total and includes a showing of the park film, “Our Time At Last,” which is approximately 20 minutes long. During the program, the ranger will present on the history of slavery during the Dutch and British periods and the history of the African Burial Ground and its rediscovery in 1991.

Need to Know

- Restrooms
There is access to restrooms and water fountains while inside the visitor center.
- Security Screening
The tour finishes outside and to re-enter the visitor center, visitors must repeat the security screening process.
- Beginning of Tour
The Guided Afternoon Tour begins in the African Burial Ground National Monument Visitor Center. Please be advised that the visitor center is within a federal office building and that visitors entering 290 Broadway are subject to airport-style security.
