The Campbell Tract is home to many types of wildlife, including moose and bears. Always pay attention for wild animals, give them lots of space, and practice “bear aware” techniques (e.g., travel in groups, make noise, and carry bear spray).
Many programs include activities that take place outdoors and some take place entirely outdoors. Temperatures can be 10 degrees colder than other parts of Anchorage. Please come dressed for the weather, including proper footwear for indoor and outdoor activities.
Programs take place in all seasons and are not cancelled due to weather. The exception is if Anchorage federal facilities close due to weather.
The Science Center is wheelchair accessible with marked parking spots in the main parking lot, paved paths to the front doors, and public restrooms. There is also an additional marked parking spot at both the north and south ends of the building. The front doors are wheelchair accessible. (All side doors, including emergency exits, remain locked to outside entry during business hours.) Two all-terrain wheelchairs are available for program participants with mobility impairments.
The Science Center does not have public Wi-Fi and cell service is spotty.
A water bottle filling station and water fountain are available inside the facility.
Restrooms, each with a changing station, are available inside the facility.
