Explore winter’s beauty by snowshoe with a knowledgeable CCSC naturalist! Look for animal signs and discover how life in the boreal forest copes with winter. This is a family-friendly program. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult caregiver for the duration of the program. Participants will travel off trail across uneven, snow-covered ground. Program is for ages 6 and above. All participants require a ticket. Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver throughout the program.
This program will take place entirely outdoors. Dress appropriately for the weather. Temperatures on Campbell Tract can often be 10 degrees colder than in other parts of Anchorage.
The Campbell Tract is home to many types of wildlife, including moose and bears. Always pay attention for wild animals, give them lots of space, and practice “bear aware” techniques (e.g., travel in groups, make noise, and carry bear spray).
Park in the main Science Center parking lot and follow the signs to take the walking path to the Main Entrance.
