Campbell Creek Science Center Public Programs
During WWII, the Army Corps of Engineers built four satellite airstrips around Southcentral Alaska, including one on the BLM Campbell Tract. Although the forest has reclaimed many foxholes and airplane parking pads, there is still much to discover. Join a CCSC naturalist for a walk to learn about the fascinating WWII history of Campbell Tract and discover remaining relics of the past.

All ages welcome.
Everyone ages 5 and over needs a ticket.
Anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult caregiver throughout the program.
The Campbell Tract is home to many types of wildlife, including moose and bears. Always pay attention for wild animals, give them lots of space, and practice “bear aware” techniques (e.g., travel in groups, make noise, and carry bear spray).
Park in the main Science Center parking lot and follow the signs to take the walking path to the Main Entrance
This program will take place entirely outside and will be conducted rain or shine. Please dress for the weather. Temperatures on Campbell Tract can often be 10 degrees colder than in other parts of Anchorage.
