Angel Lake offers great canoeing and fishing for rainbow and brook trout. The day use picnic area is adjacent to the Angel Lake Campground. The day use picnic area is on the lakeshore, with picnic tables, fire rings and grills. Vault toilets are available. No trash service, so please if you pack it in, pack it out. Smith Lake Trail, a 4.75-mile roundtrip path to a hidden alpine lake, begins at the campground entrance, next to Angel Lake Day Use Area.
The day pass is only good for the day purchased and permits the use of the parking area, access to the lake and the picnic area amenities.
This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once on-site, follow the posted instructions. You will need to download the free Recreation.gov mobile app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service: https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app.
Please have the Recreation.gov app downloaded prior to arrival. Once purchased please write down confirmation number on provided envelope and post in vehicle dashboard.
This pass does not guarantee parking availability. For your safety, please remember that parking outside of designated areas is discouraged and visitors who park illegally may be fined and towed. This pass is valid until 11:59 PM of the date listed on the pass, and only for the date and vehicle specified for this pass.
America the Beautiful Passes: Senior, Access, Military, Gold Star, Veteran, and Golden Age Senior/Access are accepted at this site. These passes cover fees for the passholder and up to three adults per vehicle.
Passes are non-transferrable between operators, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced.
