Toadstool Geologic Park Day Use Pass

Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands

Located on the beautiful Oglala National Grassland in northwestern Nebraska, Toadstool Geologic Park is a remote site that offers scenic views and vast landscapes. The park is noted for its unique geological formations and 30-40-million-year-old fossil remains.
There is a one-mile, interpretive loop trail which highlights toadstool formations, ancient mammal trackways, and geologic fault lines. In addition, there are two longer trails. The Bison Trail is a three-mile, one way trail that takes you to the Hudson Meng Education and Research Center, and the Great Plains Trail is a five-mile loop that takes you farther into the grasslands.

Our interpretive kiosk illustrates the local geology and provides information and history about the local grasslands. There are two vault toilets on site. There is no water available in the park.
