Cibola National Forest and Grasslands
The Capulin Snow Play area will open seasonally, based on snow conditions, for visitors to enjoy. There are three developed snow hills, a warming area, and a vault toilet on site.
All visitors at the Capulin Snow Play Area are required to pay a $10 recreation amenities fee. If the gate is locked at the Capulin Snow Play Area, then the site is closed.
The day pass is good for the day purchased and allows for the use of the Snow Play Area and amenities. One pass is needed per vehicle. Follow all posted rules and safety information when using the site.
During the warmer months, when snow conditions are not present, the Capulin Spring Picnic Site is available for reservation here .
For purchasing onsite, please have the Recreation.gov app downloaded prior to arrival. Once purchased please write down confirmation number on provided envelope and post in vehicle dashboard.
This pass is good for the day purchased only and does not guarantee a parking space. Please purchase your pass after selecting a parking space. Only park in designated areas.
Passes are non-transferrable between operators, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced.
Cell phone connectivity on the forest may be limited, plan ahead.
