Overview

Little Fir is a small quiet campground located along the western shores of Lake Ouachita. Little fir is a popular destination for many anglers who desire a quiet atmosphere while still being close to prime fishing habitat.

The campground has 29 sites with water and 50 amp hookups. Other amenities include shower house, dump station, and boat ramp

Natural Features

Lake Ouachita is fed from the cool waters of the Ouachita River in central Arkansas. Surrounded by the Ouachita Mountains and National Forest, it's crystal waters span over 40,000 acres and extend for 30 miles, making it the largest lake completely in the state of Arkansas.

Recreation

World-class striper fishing brings crowds of anglers year-round, and incredibly clear waters attract scuba divers, hoping to explore the flooded forests and mountain valleys below the lake's surface.  

Hikers take pleasure in the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT), which lines the southern end of the lake.

Explore Ouachita National Forest's 1.8 million acres, surrounding Lake Ouachita and extending across central Arkansas and southeastern Oklahoma.

  • Important Camping Policy Update

    Effective March 1, 2027, each campsite will be limited to one sleeping unit requiring 30-amp or 50-amp electrical service. Multiple sleeping units requiring 30-amp or 50-amp electrical hookups on the same site will no longer be permitted.

    This change is necessary to prevent overloading the electrical transformers serving this area and to ensure safe, reliable power for all campers.

    We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

  • No off-road vehicles allowed in park

  • Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.

  • Check-Out time is 4pm and Check-In time is 6pm

  • Camper Self-Check In Cards are located at the entrance of the campground. Please grab a card apon entry, fill it out and attach it to your campsite post. A ranger will verify the information written on the card later and check you in.

Directions

<p>From Mount Ida, AR: Take US 270 west to AR-27 North. Continue on AR-27 North for 4.8 miles and</p> <p>then turn right onto state hwy 188 for 8 miles. The Little Fir Campground entrance will be on your</p> <p>right.</p>
