Highway 7 Recreation Area
Highway 7 is a small, popular scenic area adjacent to State Highway 7. A narrow wooded land spur provides the facilities and ennvironment picnickers enjoy throughout the warm and mild season. A group shelter is located inside the loop turn-around at the extreme west end of the area. The open and gradually sloping land near State Highway 7 provides two beach areas where visitors find relief from high summer temperatures.
Hwy 7 Recreation Area is a day use area that features two swim beaches, playground, two restrooms, numerous picnic areas, and a reservation group use pavilion.

Alcohol is prohibited in Hwy 7 Recreation Area.
The public use of Corps Facilities is subject to Title 36, Chapter III, Part 327, of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Any property of the United States damaged or destroyed by incident to the use of this facility shall be promptly repaired or replaced by the organization or group to the satisfaction of the Park Manager. In lieu of repair or replacement, organization or group representative agrees, if requested by the Park Manager, to pay the United States money in an amount sufficient to compensate for the damages to or destruction of government property.
The facilities will be left in the condition at least equal to the pre-event condition and all garbage and trash will be removed from the area and disposed of properly.
Attendees must park in designated parking areas.
All fires, including grills, must be completely extinguished before departure.
Any posted activity signs, that are posted by the group, must be removed before leaving.
Lights must be turned off upon departure.
There is a maximum seating capacity of 50 people.
The organization or group representative must show reservation confirmation if asked by ranger staff.
Pets must be kept on leash at all times.
The organization or group representative agrees that failure to comply with these conditions will constitute a violation of the Corps of Engineers’ public use regulations and will be subject to a written citation and appropriate monetary fine under Title 36 Rules and Regulations.

Natural Features
The pavilion is located at the end of a tree-covered peninsula. Highway 7 Recreation Area is known for the many black squirrels that call it home. Degray Lake encompasses 13,500 water acres, with 207 miles of shoreline and an average depth of 47 feet.
Nearby Attractions
The DeGray Lake State Resort Park lies on the northern shores of the lake, and kayaking tours, golf, tennis courts and a horseback riding trail are available.
Recreation
DeGray Lake hosts thousands of professional fishing tournaments, triathlons and it is one of the most popular swimming destinations in the region. The area is also ideal for boating and jet skiing.

Driving Directions
From Interstate 30 take exit 78. Merge onto State Highway 7 north for 4 miles. Turn left into Highway 7 Recreation Area and proceed to the end of the road.
