Pine Lake Campground sits on the western shore of Pine Lake, between the towns of Crandon and Three Lakes. With fewer sites comes less people, but all the same amenities as other National Forest Campgrounds. There are plenty of sites to see and fishing opportunities on area lakes and Pine Lake Campground is an excellent central location.
Pine Lake Campground has 12 campsites which can accommodate trailers 40 feet in length, with most sites being able to accommodate trailers 45+ feet. Drinking water, vault toilets, garbage disposal, boat landing, and a picnic area are also provided.
Sitting among towering Hemlock trees, Pine Lake Campground offers an excellent setting for relaxation or for planning your day fishing the 1,667-acre Pike Lake.
Pine Lake is a favorite of anglers who target northern pike, bass, walleye, and panfish which are all found in the 1,667-acre lake. The campground also boasts a full boat landing with two courtesy docks allowing for easy unloading and loading of your fishing or pleasure boat.
The Argonne Experimental Forest and Interpretive Trail are located northeast of the campground off of STH 32, with the Headwaters Wilderness "Giant Pine Trail" located slightly further north. The towns of Three Lakes and Crandon are also a short drive and offer many amenities.
Pine Lake Campground is located on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in northeast Wisconsin.
Use is restricted to hardened campsite area.
Generator use is limited to the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and only while users are present at the campsite. Unreasonably loud generators which may bother others cannot be used at any time.
Privately owned ATV's, UTV's, and Golf Carts are not allowed to be operated within the campground.
Single occupancy sites are allowed up to 8 persons and one wheeled camping unit, e.g. camper or RV, as well as three additional vehicles or trailers, so long as they are not wheeled camping units.
Firewood must be purchased or collected from no greater than 25 miles of a National Forest destination or collected directly from National Forest land. Firewood from any distance that has been certified by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is allowed.
There are no electric hook-ups at this facility.
<p>From the intersection of Highway 32 and FR2186 just south of Hiles, drive west on FR2186 for 0.5 miles to FR2185. Turn left onto FR2185 and drive 1.3 miles to the campground entrance on the left.</p>
