Mazama Village Campground

Mazama Village Campground

Part of Crater Lake National Park

Overview

Located just over 6 miles south of Crater Lake's Rim Village, the 214-site Mazama Village Campground is Crater Lake National Park’s largest campground. As you exit off Highway 62, pass through the NPS Annie Springs entrance station and the road to the campground will be located on your right. Mazama Village Campground is perfect for tent and RV camping and provides necessary amenities to all campers. Each campsite features a picnic table, fire ring with a grill and a bear-resistant food locker.

Mazama Village Campground is open only in summer. It typically opens in June and closes in late September. The exact opening and closing dates are determined each year by the snow level in the camp sites, safety issues, and other factors.

Facilities

Each campsite has a bear locker for food storage, picnic table, fire ring and access to restrooms close by. Cell service within the campground is limited. Camp hosts are available onsite. Showers are available in the F loop of the campground and at Mazama Village Camp Store during store hours. Firewood, groceries, and fuel are available for purchase at the Mazama Village Camp Store. Annie Creek Restaurant and Gift Shop are located across from the Mazama Village Camp Store.

Natural Features

The campground is nestled in an old-growth forest at 6,000 ft. (1,829 m) in elevation. Situated on a bluff roughly 200 feet above Annie Creek, the campground is tucked away in a forest of lodgepole pine, and it is composed of seven loops lettered A thru G that are primarily built for tent/car camping.

Recreation

Crater Lake National Park has over ninety miles of established trails and a robust Ranger-led education program available during the summer months. Mazama Village, adjacent to the campground, features a general store, a gift shop, a casual dining restaurant with outdoor seating and a gas station. The Rim Village is located six miles north of the campground with majestic views of the lake and the historic 33-mile Rim Drive circles Crater Lake with views from 30 overlooks.
