Atherton Creek Campground is located on Lower Slide Lake. This is a beautiful and quiet camping location where you can quickly and easily get away from the hustle and bustle of Grand Teton National Park and Jackson, but still access those places in less than 30 minutes if you wish. The road access is paved up to the campground and winds through aspen stands with gorgeous views of the Gros Ventre River. Boat and fishing access are excellent for Lower Slide Lake, allowing for great trout fishing and peaceful evenings floating around looking for wildlife.
Atherton Campground has 21standard sites (16 are available for reservation), suitable for tents and smaller trailers. Vault toilets are provided. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and bear box.
The Bridger-Teton National Forest offer more than 3.4 million acres of public land for your enjoyment. Pristine watersheds, abundant wildlife and immense wildlands, the BTNF comprises a large part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, the largest intact ecosystem in the lower 48 United States.
Encompassing a landscape of rivers, mountains, trails and forest roads, the Bridger-Teton National Forest is one of the most popular recreation forests in the nation. Anglers will find populations of cutthroat trout when casting their lines out into the water. Boating, kayaking, paddleboarding and endless miles of hiking trails are within walking distance from the campground.

ATTENTION -- BE BEAR AWARE
Bears are active in all campgrounds. All scented items -- food, beverages, pet food, coolers, cook stoves and toiletries -- should stored in locked vehicles or in the provided bear-proof storage boxes.
No public lake access through the campground.
Pets must be always leashed.
One RV with tow vehicle per single site or two vehicles per site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a $10 per night fee and collected at the campground.
Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (NOON) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation, or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.
Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
Firewood bundles may be available for purchase from the campground host.
Any accepted senior passes must be entered for the discount at the time of booking for single sites only.

From the roundabout take the right exit onto the Gros Ventre Road heading east, passing the community of Kelly. The continue north on the same road and turn right on Forest Service Road #30400.
