This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Campsites may not be reserved in advance. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Visitors can pay by cash on site, or by using Scan and Pay . Download the Recreation.gov mobile app before you arrive at the campground, and pay through your phone using the Scan and Pay QR code which is located on site.
There is a loading ramp and water for stock only. Water is not for human consumption. Each site has a highline. An open field next to the campground provides space for over flow camping and a beautiful view of the mountain.
There is no electricity at the campground and cell phone reception is poor.
There are no hookups.
Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by obtaining and burning your firewood near your camping destination. This pleasant well developed horse camp is located in a wooded site on the base of Mount Adams.
A twenty mile trail system that can lead to Mt. Adams Wilderness is accessible from the campground. Wilderness regulations apply within the wilderness area.

From Trout Lake, Washington take Mt. Adams Road north to the intersection with Forest Road 23. At this intersection fork to the right. Continue driving for one mile to the turn onto Forest Road 80. This road is signed “South Climb”. Make the left hand turn on to Forest Road 80 and continue to the intersection with spur road 031 at the sign for the horse camp. Turn left and drive to the entrance to the camp on the right.
