Trout Farm Campground offers opportunities for picnicking, pond/stream fishing, and hunting. This nice little campground is ideal for families, or the fishing enthusiast. This campground offers a nice pond for fishing with an barrier free path along the pond as well as a barrier free pier. Trout Farm Campground also has a newly renovated covered picnic shelter and running water. A great place to visit near the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness.
Each campsite has a picnic table, fire ring, and parking for camp trailers. Accessible vault toilets are conveniently located in the middle of the campground. Potable water is available during the summer months. Day use entails parking, fishing and a covered picnic shelter.
John Day River headwaters are nearby.
Visitors can enjoy pond and stream fishing, picnicking, seasonal berry picking and a short walk around the pond. Nearby hunting areas offer additional recreation, and the campground's close proximity to the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness makes it an inviting base for exploration.
Drinking water is available only during warmer months; water will be shut off from early October until late May (specific dates required to prevent freezing lines depend on area temperatures).

<p>From the town of Prairie City, OR., turn onto South Main Street. Follow South Main Street to the junction with Bridge Street. Turn left onto Bridge Street and continue past the local cemetery. The road then changes to County Road 62. Later continue on County Road 62 approximately 13 miles, the Trout Farm campground will be on the right. </p>
