Greenbelt Campground is an urban oasis just 10 miles (16 km) from Washington, D.C. This beautiful, wooded park is known for its safety, affordability, peaceful surroundings and National Park Service hospitality. Each campsite includes a picnic table and combination grill/campfire ring. Campsites have been improved using your camping fees to include new picnic tables and grills. The campground does not have water or electric hookups (primitive campground). A Loop is a Scout loop, youth or group Loop only.
There is a RV limit of 30 feet/9 m (including tow vehicle) in B Loop and limited availability for larger vehicles (35 feet/10.6 m including tow vehicle) in D loop.
This quiet campground has paved roads and parking spurs, which provide good access for cars and RVs alike. The site contains flush toilets, drinking water, showers and a dump station. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. For scout groups, please reserve the "Youth/Scout/Organized Groups Only" campsite, which is open year-round.
In suburban Maryland, Greenbelt Park is forested with a pleasant mix of pine, oak and maple trees which make for a colorful autumn season. Mountain laurel blooms throughout the park in May.
Still Creek flows through the park, where deer and chipmunks are commonly seen.
The trails are open.
Ten miles (16 km) of hiking trails meander through Greenbelt Park, including the Perimeter, Azalea, Dogwood and Blueberry Trails. Sweetgum Picnic Area is located near the entrance of the park with playground equipment and public picnic tables. The Sweetgum Picnic Area is on a first-come, first-served basis limited to groups of 24 people or less. The Holly Picnic Area is a 1/2 mile (.8 km) walk to playground and open field.
Greenbelt Campground is surrounded by a myriad of fun and interesting attractions. Washington, D.C. and its famed historic sites are just 10 miles (16 km) from Greenbelt. Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens are 8 miles (13 km) away. Goddard Space Flight Center is 3 miles (5 km) from the park and the City of Greenbelt is 1 mile (1.6 km) away. The Washington, D.C. Metro Transit System (Greenbelt Station) is just 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from the park, and major shopping centers are located within 1/2 mile (.8 km).
The campground offers year-round reservations. You may book 6 months in advance.
Payment is not accepted on site. You must book your campsite in advance or upon arrival using the Recreation.gov website or call center (1-877-444-6777).
No Hookups. There are no water or electrical hookups at the sites but there is water and electricity in the bathrooms. There is a dump station and portable water available.
Maximum equipment. Two vehicles, three tents and six people are allowed per site. RV limit is 30 feet (9 m) in B Loop and 35 feet (10.6 m) in D loop.
Quiet Hours. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Generators may be run from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
No Alcohol. Alcohol is not permitted in the campground.
No attachments to trees. Do not attach clotheslines, hammocks, etc. to trees.
Ticks. There is a tick notice in the Mid-Atlantic region in Spring and Summer so please take precautions such as using tick repellent.

Loop B showers are currently closed. Restrooms are available near B68. Please use the showers in Loop A.
From I-95/495 (Capital Beltway), take Exit 23 Kenilworth Avenue South (Route 201) to Greenbelt Road East (Route 193). The park entrance is a quarter mile down Greenbelt Road on the right. The park address is 6565 Greenbelt Road.
