Sowell Creek Park is nestled within the beautiful Cross Timbers Region of Texas and located on the east side of Proctor Lake. Sowell Creek appeals to sportsmen, birdwatchers, naturalists or those simply wanting to relax in the outdoors.
The park gate closes at night for security. Entrance into the park is not allowed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Please plan accordingly.
Off-road vehicles, golf carts, ATVs, or UTVs are NOT permitted in the parks.
Campsites are allowed 2 extra vehicle permits at a cost of $4 per permit. Each campsite is not to exceed a total of 4 vehicles per campsite.

STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood. CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that contacts water. From Comanche, Texas, take Highway 67/377 east for 12 miles to the town of Proctor. Turn left on FM 1476 west and continue 2 miles to Recreation Road 6. Turn left and continue for 1/2 mile to the park entrance.
