The historic Tigiwon Community house is a large day-use cabin, perfect for family reunions, parties or weddings.
Nestled in a forested setting, this facility has an expansive view of Colorado's Gore Range.
Facilities
Tigiwon Community House is a day-use area only. Overnight camping is prohibited.
The historic Tigiwon Community house is a relatively large, one room cabin. Amenities both inside and outside the cabin are Accessible. Outside, visitors will have access to four 10-foot picnic tables, two charcoal grills, a fire pit, a horseshoe pit and vault toilets. Inside amenities include four tables, bench seating around the room and a stone fireplace.
Natural Features
In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the 2.3 million acre White River National Forest is a place of serenity and adventure, boasting eight wilderness areas and ten peaks surpassing 14,000 feet in elevation.
The White River National Forest was established in 1891 as the White River Plateau Timber Reserve, the second such reserve to be named in the United States.

Encompassing a landscape of rivers, mountains, trails, and forest roads, the White River National Forest is one of the top recreation Forests in the nation.
The Community House is a few miles below a trailhead which accesses the Holy Cross Wilderness Area. Several trails lead into this special place, please learn about wilderness ethics and regulations before hiking.
Nearby Attractions
Tigiwon Community House is in the heart of the Vail Valley. It is inbetween the Holy Cross and Eagles Nest Wilderness Areas which abound with hiking trails. The valley floor has mountain bike trail opportunties. The Eagle and Colorado Rivers flow through the valley and offer many floating and fishing opportunities.

- Fees for facility are as follows: 1-50 people = $85.00 51-100 people = $110.00 101-150 people = $160.00 151-200 people = $210.00
- This is a day-use area only; overnight camping prohibited
There is no drinking water or electricity hook-ups at this site. Use of generators is prohibited.
- Summer day use is from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
- The road is closed in winter and spring (November 23 to June 20) to motor vehicles except snowmobiles
- The facility is locked with a combination lock
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
Amplified music is permitted between 8 am and 10 pm. Music shall be 80 decibels or less as to not disturb other forest users.
Pre-paid food and drink vendors and an event officiant are permissible so long as the vendor and/or officiant only provide services to the guests of the event. No other service shall be offered to other recreation visitors.
Flowers and other decorations are allowed so long as all items are removed immediately post event and not be allowed to blow away or be strewn about the site. Decoration shall not be affixed to natural features such as trees, rocks, or other vegetation.
Commercial filming and still photography are permissible so long as the products are only available to the client who booked the venue. No other re-sale is allowable.
Additional pre-paid seating and appropriately sized tents are permissible at this venue. All tents and seating shall be placed on hardened surfaces.
Release or throwing of animals, vegetation, or any other materials is prohibited. This is a natural forest environment, and all celebratory items shall reflect the setting.
All vendor-provided equipment shall be removed by site check out time as described on Recreation.gov. The reservation holder is responsible for removal of all equipment and conduct of their vendor.
Notifications and Alerts

Directions
<p>From Denver, go approximately 105 miles to exit 171. Take Highway<br>24 south through the town of Minturn to the Tigiwon Road/Forest Service Road 707 and turn right. Follow the Tigiwon Road approximately 6 miles<br>to the Community House. Make sure you pick up a free Motor Vehicle Use Map either at the White River National Forest webpage or at the office located in Minturn. This map will direct you to what Forest Service roads are open to motorized travel by the kind of vehicle and time of year.</p>
<p>The parking area in front of the community house can accommodate approximately 15-20 cars.</p>
