Overview

Cold Springs Campground is a popular summer campground conveniently located 5-7 minutes from the town of Sulphur. Travertine Creek, directly across from Cold Springs, provides several refreshing spring-fed swimming areas to escape the summer heat. Other nearby attractions, such as Little Niagara and the Travertine Nature Center, make this campground an ideal location for both seasoned and first-time campers.

El Camping Cold Springs es un popular camping de verano, convenientemente ubicado a 5-7 minutos del pueblo de Sulphur. El arroyo Travertine, justo enfrente de Cold Springs, ofrece varias zonas de baño refrescantes con agua de manantial para escapar del calor del verano. Facilities

• Cold Springs is a non-electric tent-only campground. Cold Springs es un camping exclusivo para tiendas de campaña, sin electricidad.

• Two restroom buildings are located in the campground. Both restrooms have flush toilets and sinks. No showers are available at this campground. El camping cuenta con dos baños. Ambos cuentan con inodoros y lavabos con cisterna. No hay duchas disponibles.

Natural Features

Mature oak and hickory forests cover this historic part of Chickasaw National Recreation Area. This area of the park is abundant with cold spring-fed waterfalls and beautiful geologic formations.

Recreation

Travertine Creek, located directly across the road from Cold Springs Campground, is a popular area for swimming and picnicking. The creek is fed by nearby Antelope and Buffalo Springs. The scenic and shaded Antelope and Buffalo Springs Trail is located behind the Travertine Nature Center and is approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) in length. • Check out time is noon CST and check in time is 2:30 PM CST. Guests may check in early if the previous visitor has already left and the campsite has been cleaned. • Parking is extremely limited and no more than two average size vehicles per site are allowed. No overflow parking is available at Cold Springs Campground. ROCK CREEK CAMPGROUND WILL BECOME SEASONAL CLOSING ON OR ABOUT THE 1ST OF OCTOBER UNTIL ON OR ABOUT THE 1ST OF MAY. CENTRAL CAMPGROUND WILL CONTINUE TO CLOSE UNDER THE SAME DATES AS ROCK CREEK.

Directions

<p>From I-35, take Exit 55 and drive towards the city of Davis, OK. Once in Davis, go east on Highway 7. Watch for Chickasaw National Recreation Area signs. Drive approximately 8 miles east of Davis to the only 4 way stop (Jct Hwy 7 and Hwy 177) in the city of Sulphur. Turn right for approximately 0.2 miles on Highway 177. Take the first left turn on NE Perimeter Road. Keep driving on NE Perimeter Road until you see the sign for Cold Springs Campground. The campground will be on your left.</p>
