Jackrabbit Mountain Campground offers scenic lakeside camping in the beautiful Nantahala National Forest of southwestern North Carolina. Campers can breathe the fresh air of the forest while enjoying numerous recreation activities, including hiking, picnicking, mountain biking, fishing and water sports at Jackrabbit Recreation Area. The campground contains three seperate camping loops; Loops A is open May - September, and Loop B and C is open May - October.
Host at Jackrabbit Mountain Campground is unable to switch sites.
Anyone parking at the beach area must pay the daily fee of $5.00 including registered campers at Jack Rabbit Mountain Campground (This is for per vehicle fee).
Pets are not allowed at the beach, picnic area, swimming area or in the parking lot.
Campsites identified as RV sites do not have tent pads.
Discount pass holders can only reserve one site at a time with their discount pass number.
IMPORTANT: Check-out Time is at 1200 noon, Check-in Time is at 4pm. If you do not vacate your site by 12 o'clock noon you will be ticketed. These times insure that everyone is off the site and it gives staff time to get it ready for the next reservation.
All sites (Loop A, Loop B, and Loop C) must be reserved through recreation.gov. There are no first come first serve sites available. If a host is on site, it is recommended that campers check in with host before occupying the site. Please have your reservation receipt with you to show campground staff when asked for validation. Reservations can be made up to the day of arrival.

From Hayesville, North Carolina, take U.S. Highway 64 east for 6.2 miles. Turn right onto State Route 175 and go 2.5 miles. Turn right onto State Road 1155, which turns into Forest Road 248. <br /><br /> From Hiawassee, Georgia, take Georgia Route 75 north for about 3.5 miles, where it turns into North Carolina Route 175, and go an additional 1.5 miles. Turn left onto State Road 1155, which turns into Forest Service Road 248.
