You must paddle to this site. It is located approximately 10.7 miles south of the bridge near Matagamon Wilderness Camps. The campsite sits approximately three feet above the East Branch of the Penobscot River, up a steep rooted bank. The shoreline is about two feet wide when the water level is low. Check the water level and flow rate before arriving for your trip.
No cell phone service.
No potable water (bring a water filter).
No trash service. Practice Leave No Trace principles and carry out everything you carry in, including all trash and food.
Obtain firewood locally within 10 miles of your campsite.
This campsite cannot be accessed by road. You must paddle to camp at this site.
Pets must be on a leash of six feet or less at all times.
