- Shenandoah National Park has a very large bear population. Bears travel through the campground daily; all items with a scent must be stored inside the food storage bin provided OR in your vehicle at all times, except while eating. If a bear enters your site while you have food items out please understand you must quickly put those items in the storage bin or your vehicle before vacating your site.
