- Alaska cabin reservations can only be changed once. If you need to modify your reservation a second time,it must be cancelled and then re-booked by calling 1-877-444-6777.*Effective November 17, 2003 to assure fairness for everyone.*
Cabin is primitive, no amenities except woodstove and outhouse. Open fires
must be in fire ring. Collect dead or downed wood only. Lake or stream
water must be boiled or treated before drinking. All garbage must be
packed out. Bring personal flotation devices for skiff.
DIRECTIONS: In central part of Admiralty Island, NW end of Lake
Alexander. Floatplane and canoe/portage access. One way
flight time from Juneau is approximately 45 minutes. By canoe/portage it
is 3.5 miles to Mole Harbor. - On the Cross-Admiralty Canoe Route: 3 1/2 miles to Mole Harbor; 1 1/2 miles
to Hasselborg Lake through Beaver Lake.
Lake Alexander is approximately 1 3/4 miles long, 1/2 mile wide.
Within Kootznoowoo Wilderness; natural scenery with spruce, hemlock and
cedar forest, deer and brown bear. Skiff with oars is provided; users may
bring small outboard of less than 10 horsepower for skiff.
