Cabin is primitive with no amenities except oil stove and outhouse.
High tide recommended to access the cabin. Boat is not provided.
Users MUST bring #1 diesel fuel for the oil stove. Open fires must be in
fire ring. Collect dead or downed wood only. Stream water must be boiled
or treated for drinking. All garbage must be packed out.
DIRECTIONS: This cabin is located in the northwest arm of Pybus Bay, which
is on the southeastern shore of Admiralty Island. The cabin is on the
northern shore of the small unnamed cove that lies 1/2 mile north of
Donkey Bay.
Floatplane or boat access. One-way flight time from Juneau is 1 hour 15
minutes. Boat access from Stephens Passage or Frederick Sound; water
distance to Juneau is approximately 100 miles. - Approx. 80 air miles south of Juneau, 10 mi. south of Gambier Bay.
Cabin is located on saltwater cove in Pybus Bay. Within Kootznoowoo
Wilderness; natural scenery with spruce and hemlock forest, deer and brown
bear.
