Yuba-Donner Scenic Byway is managed by Department of Transportation. Winding through Tahoe National Forest, Yuba-Donner Scenic Byway showcases the Sierra Nevada peaks.
Navigating the Byway:
Yuba Donner loops around on State Highways 89, 49, and 20 and on Interstate 80 in northeastern California.
From Nevada: take Interstate 80 to State Highway 89 by following Donner Pass Rd. west from Truckee. Heading east, the byway links with and continues along Highway 20 before joining Highway 49 heading east. Take Interstate 89 near Sierraville. The loop ends again at Truckee.
From within California: portions of the byway can be accessed when traveling on any of the three state highways (89,49, and 20) and Interstate 80 in Yuba, Sierra, and Nevada counties.
