More than 80 miles of groomed and ungroomed trails, including the 32-mile Garnet National Winter Recreation Trail, wind through the Garnet Mountain range. With none of the crowds found at Lolo Pass or Seeley Lake, these trails offer the chance for leisurely exploring and solitude. Snowmobilers and skiers share the trails, and you may see a dogsledder or two.
From State Highway 200, about 30 miles east of Missoula, turn south between mile markers 22 and 23. Parking is large enough to accomodate trailers. From Interstate 90, take either the Drummond or Bearmouth exit and follow old U.S. 10 to the Bear Gulch Road. Follow signs up Bear Gulch to a point four miles from Garnet. Parking in this area is limited.
