Antelope Pit is located off Highway 139 just 8 miles outside of Susanville, CA. The area is a mineral pit that is often utilized for unregulated target shooting.

Target shooting on BLM lands is allowed if conducted in a safe manner. There are no facilities at Antelope Pit, please pack out what you pack in . Violations are punishable for shooting signs, dumping and littering.

Special Events

Antelope Pit is often used for CCW classes by outside vendors. In addition, area cleanup’s often take place by the Lassen College Gun Smith group and other volunteers. Please use caution target shooting when special events are occurring. Contact the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office to obtain a permit to hold CCW classes and/or participate in an area cleanup.
