Sturgeon Bay & Lake Michigan Ship Canal

Overview

Sturgeon Bay & Lake Michigan Ship Canal is managed by Us Army Corps of Engineers and is located near Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The project is located in the northeast portion of Wisconsin in the middle of The Door County peninsula. The ship canal is used as a shortcut for vessels using the ports of Green Bay and Menominee. Acreage along the northern side of the canal has a hiking trail and scenic overlook with parking.
