Overview

The Fort Meade Backcountry Byway runs 5 miles through pine covered hills to historic Fort Meade, a former home to several U.S. Army cavalry regiments. The route offers diverse scenery, including prairies and rocky ledges, as well as access to historical and interpretive sites for sightseeing and exploring.
