The hatchery is now culturing land-locked Atlantic salmon eggs from Lake Champlain which will be stocked in rivers and streams on the New York side of the lake to complement stocking efforts by the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department in Vermont tributaries. The hatchery also is rearing lake trout broodstock for restoration and stocking efforts in Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. The hatchery is open to the public for self-guided tours M-F, and open for tours by calling in advance.
