Overview

Private John Allen National Fish Hatchery is a warmwater hatchery established in Tupelo, Mississippi, in 1901. Current programs involve the restoration of Paddlefish, Alligator Gar, Lake Sturgeon, Gulf Coast Walleye, Gulf Coast Striped Bass and the Yazoo Darter; recovery of at risk, endangered, and threatened species such as the Frecklebelly Madtom, Piebald Madtom, and the Pearl Darter; stocking of recreational fish including Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Bluegill and Redear Sunfish on public lands.
