Overview

Quilcene National Fish Hatchery's salmon programs are managed in partnership with five local tribes (the Skokomish, Jamestown S'Klallam, Port Gamble S'Klallam, Lower Elwha Klallam, the Suquamish, and Point No Point Treaty Council Tribes) and the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife. Located on Washington’s Hood Canal, the hatchery releases or transfers more than 1.1 million fish and eggs each year to support tribal, sport, and commercial angling. A trail from the hatchery allows anglers fishing access to the Big Quilcene River.
