Overview

Trail Description

The Een’oog Trail follows the rim of the geographic formation known as Land Hill. Numerous petroglyphs are accessible for viewing along this route. Once the trail passes the intersection with the U’waiv Trail (heading west), the Een’oog Trail becomes narrow and rocky, and has steep exposure along the rim that may make it unsuitable for young children.

The Een’oog Trail is accessible by connecting a series of short trails:

Een’oog means “old ones” in the Southern Paiute language. Ancestral Puebloans and Southern Paiutes lived in this area and are closely connected to the land. The Santa Clara River was vital to both cultures and is a protected as part of the Santa Clara River Reserve.

Santa Clara/Land Hill is designated as an Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC).
