The North Fruita Desert campground is a mountain biker’s paradise with campsites situated at the heart of miles of well-maintained trails. There are 59 campsites, each with a fire ring, picnic table and parking. While there are four vault toilets within walking distance of each campsite, there is no water, electricity, or garbage services available. Camp with respect and pack out what you pack in. Additionally, campers will need to bring their own firewood. Ride only on signed routes to reach the nearby trail system – no cross-country travel. For the time being, campsites are first-come, first-served and require a permit obtained onsite for $20/night. CHANGES COMING SOON: Coming in the spring of 2021, reservations will be required for overnight use at the North Fruita Desert Campground. Reservations can be made in advance or at the campground using www.recreation.gov. Camping in designated sites costs $20.00/night, plus a $10 administrative fee per reservation. Camping is limited to 14 days. There is adequate reception by major carriers to reserve a site via smartphone on-site, or visitors can call (877) 444-6777 and make a reservation over the phone. Camping fees will continue to be reinvested in this area to maintain and improve existing facilities, develop new campsites and events staging facilities, and to maintain and construct trails.
