Overview

Vehicle reservations are required to drive Cadillac Summit Road from May 20 through October 25, 2026. Be sure to review the Seasons & Booking and Need to Know tabs for important information.  

In addition to purchasing a vehicle reservation for Cadillac Summit Road, vehicles must display a park entrance pass through the windshield (the park honors valid America the Beautiful-the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands annual or lifetime passes, also known as an interagency passes, e.g., Senior, 4th Grade, Military, etc.). Vehicle reservations are not required for other locations in the park or for visitors who travel by foot, bicycle, or taxi.  

Acadia National Park is among the smallest and most popular national parks in the United States with about 4 million visits a year. Growing visitation has caused severe traffic and parking congestion at the park’s most popular destinations, including Cadillac Mountain. The National Park Service has established a vehicle reservation system for Cadillac Summit Road so visitors can find a place to park and have a safe, enjoyable experience.
