Overview

Missoula Field Office is managed by Bureau of Land Management and is located near Missoula, Montana. The Missoula Field Office manages nearly 200,000 acres of public lands and more than 200,000 acres of mineral estate within Granite, Missoula, Lincoln, Flathead, Sanders, Mineral, Lake, Ravalli and Powell counties in western Montana. The area is rich in history, wood products, mineral resources, and opportunities to connect with public lands Big game hunting, hiking, biking, fishing, camping, cross country skiing, and wildlife viewing are popular activities within the Missoula Field Office. More than 12 miles of the Blackfoot River Recreation Corridor runs through BLM managed public lands and provides world-class opportunities for anglers, floaters, camping, and wildlife viewing including several float-in campsites. Garnet Ghost Town is popular with tourists seeking to step back in time and experience some of Montana’s colorful history. It is the highlight of the Garnet Range Back Country Byway. The Garnet Winter Recreation Trail network provides more than 50 miles of snowmobile trails and a chance to visit the Ghost Town in the winter.
