Warm Springs Reservoir

Overview

Warm Springs Reservoir is managed by Bureau of Reclamation and is located near Burns, Oregon. Warm Springs Dam and Reservoir (Vale Project) are on the Middle Fork of the Malheur River about 13 miles southwest of Juntura, Oregon. The 4,600 surface acre reservoir lies against the tall, steep hills on the eastern side of a broad valley. Migrating waterfowl use the reservoir, and it is part of the winter range for mule deer. The area is not heavily used, due in part to the sparse vegetation, mainly sagebrush. Anglers will find smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, brown bullhead, largemouth bass, and bluegill to the west side of the reservoir and dam. Facilities are limited to the west side of the reservoir and dam. Season open year-round.
