Grandmother Mountain Wilderness Study Area

Overview

Grandmother Mountain Wilderness Study Area is managed by Bureau of Land Management and is located near Clarkia, Idaho. In Idaho, BLM manages over 17,000 acres of public lands in the Grandmother Wilderness Study Area. The terrain varies from heavily forested drainages to bare peaks and several high mountain lakes. Elevation ranges from 4600 feet in the Lund Creek drainage to 6800 feet on Widow Mountain. Prominent activities here include hiking, hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, camping and nature observation.
