Lower Salmon Falls Creek Wilderness Study Area

Overview

Lower Salmon Falls Creek Wilderness Study Area is managed by Bureau of Land Management and is located near Castleford, Idaho. In Idaho, BLM manages 3,500 acres of public lands in the Lower Salmon Falls Creek Wilderness Study Area. The WSA consists of 16-mile long, 1/2-mile wide canyon that carries Salmon Falls. This vertical-walled meandering canyon dissects the Antelope Pocket lava plain and is between 300 and 600 feet deep. It supports a variety of plants, fish and wildlife species.

From Castleford, drive south to Lilly Grade on 900 East, approximately 6 miles. To access the southern end, drive west from Rogerson approximately 7.5 miles on Three Creek Highway.
