Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge
Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge, located 25 miles north of Macon, Georgia, was established in 1939 with the purpose of providing a refuge and breeding ground for migratory birds and other native wildlife. Today the refuge consists of 34,000 acres of managed upland pine and pine-hardwood forest. Over 200 species of birds occur on the refuge including the federally listed red-cockaded woodpecker. Piedmont NWR provides opportunities for hunting, fishing, wildlife observation, hiking, and enjoying the great outdoors!
This permit authorizes the permit holder to participate in a deer hunt during specified dates at Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge will hold three either-sex quota hunts for white-tailed deer, one primitive weapons hunt and two firearms hunts. This permit also provides the hunter access to camp in the Pippins Lake campground during the selected hunt.
Taking and/or collecting any other wildlife or plants is a violation of refuge regulations.
Permits are only issued through Recreation.gov. The refuge will not sell permits in person or by phone.
