Havasu NWR Waterfowl Hunt - Pintail Slough Management Area
Havasu National Wildlife Refuge
The Pintail Slough waterfowl management area provides a great opportunity for hunters, young and young at heart, to get out and harvest waterfowl. The hunt unit consists of 8 water bodies and 2 goose fields with 10 blinds over water and 2 pit blinds installed in the goose fields. The blinds are built and maintained by refuge staff and volunteers. Hunters will need to call refuge headquarters at 928-667-4144 to receive the gate code for their hunt window to access the hunt unit.
Hunt hours are a half hour before sunrise to 2 p.m. Hunters must leave the unit by 3 p.m.
There are no handicapped-only blinds. There is improved parking access at blinds 1, 3, and 4, but anyone can reserve them regardless of mobility status.
Notifications and Alerts
Due to the construction of new water control structures on Topock Marsh, water levels will be low in the marsh. It is unlikely that the refuge will be able to deliver water to Pintail Slough hunt management area. Sorry for the inconvenience. We hope to maintain better water levels upon completion of construction.
Permit & Season Information
This permit allows the permit holder and three guests to utilize the selected hunt blinds on the selected date in the Pintail Slough hunt unit. Blinds become available to reserve at 8:00 am Arizona time following the dates below.
September 15th – Hunters can reserve blinds for hunt window #1 (October 1st - November 16th)
November 1st – Hunters can reserve blinds for hunt window #2 (November 17th - December 31st)
December 15th – Hunters can reserve blinds for hunt window #3 (January 1st – January 31st)
Applicants are permitted to reserve three hunt blind dates per hunt window.

Address
Phone number
E-mail address associated with Recreation.gov account
Arizona hunting license number
The primary permit holder is allowed up to three guests in the blind (this includes hunting and non-hunting guests). The number of guests or their names is not required information for the reservation.
Hunters are limited to reserving three blinds per hunt window. There are three hunt windows, so a total of 9 hunt reservations are permitted for the season per permit holder.
The reservation fee is $10.00 per blind, payable through the Recreation.gov website.
Permits are refundable until 24 hours before the hunt date on the permit. Permittees will be refunded $4.00 of their $10.00 permit fee due to the $6.00 nonrefundable reservation fee assessed at the time of purchase.
Permit holders are required to have a digital or printed permit in their possession while hunting.

Cancellation Policy
