Red Fleet State Park

Utah, Utah.

Paleontologists believe three-toed, tridactyl, dinosaurs that were bipedal, walking on two legs, left the prints in the sandstone slabs of Red Fleet State Park. That find is one of many surprises at this scenic reservoir, which is surrounded by beautiful sandstone cliffs giving it the nickname “Little Lake Powell.” Both cozy and scenic, it’s located just a few miles north of Vernal, UT. It’s a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area, including Dinosaur National Monument and Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, and offers stellar camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, and biking, truly making it a destination in itself.
