Meet at the Furnace Creek Visitor Center at 7:45am Pacific Time. Plan to drive your personal vehicle 30 miles to the start of the hike (60 mile round trip). Expect to be back at your vehicle around 3:30pm.
Late arrival will result in forfeiting your reserved tour. No refunds for late arrival. You cannot join the guided hike once the caravan leaves Furnace Creek Visitor Center
This is a moderately strenuous, seven-mile round trip hike with 1,500' elevation gain on rugged, uneven terrain. It is not recomended for anyone with mobility or breathing difficulties. Those that are unable to hike the first mile at a reasonable hiking speed will be escorted back to their vehicle.
Reservation holders must bring their printed tickets to the Furnace Creek Visitor Center at least 15 minutes prior to tour time.
Don’t forget lunch and at least two quarts of water (maybe more if it’s warm).
Water and restrooms are available at the Furnace Creek Visitor Center, the meeting place for the tour. However, once you leave the Visitor Center there will be no water, restrooms, or cell service available.
Please bring a lunch for your hike. Food will not be available to be purchased from the visitor center day of.
There is limited shade on this hike, prepare by bringing a suitable hat and other sun protection.
Children under 10 years of age are prohibited from participating in this strenuous seven-mile hike that enters a very sensitive resource of Death Valley National Park.
