Campbell Creek Science Center Public Programs

Calling all junior rangers! Join CCSC naturalists to complete fun outdoor investigations and earn your Junior Ranger badge. Days and focus of programs varies (see below). For kids ages 5-10.

• December 29, 12:30-2:30 p.m.: Winter Survival. Practice fire starting and other winter survival skills.

Need to Know

• Ticket Ages

  For ages 5-10. All participants must have a ticket and be accompanied by an adult caregiver throughout the program. Adult caregivers do not require a ticket.

• Weather

  This program will take place mostly outdoors. Dress appropriately for the weather. Temperatures on Campbell Tract can often be 10 degrees colder than in other parts of Anchorage.

• Wildlife

  The Campbell Tract is home to many types of wildlife, including moose and bears. Always pay attention for wild animals, give them lots of space, and practice “bear aware” techniques (e.g., travel in groups, make noise, and carry bear spray).

• Directions

  Park in the main Science Center parking lot and follow the signs to take the walking path to the Main Entrance.
