Backcountry First Aid for Your Dog

Campbell Creek Science Center Public Programs

If you enjoy getting out on the trails with your dog, there is some basic first aid you should know in case something happens to your best friend while you are far from veterinary care. An experienced veterinarian and veterinary technician from Anchorage Veterinary Clinic and Urgent Care will help prepare you for some of the most common backcountry hazards and canine injuries that you may encounter while out adventuring with your pet. They will give you advice on what to carry with you and share tips on triaging your dog to determine how urgently veterinary care is needed. Cost includes a small first aid kit of pet-specific items to take home. Please leave your dog at home for this event. For people 18 years or older.

Saturday, May 18, 2024, 10 a.m.-Noon

NOTE: When you register, please add your dog's weight after your first name. (e.g., Bob, 45 lbs)

If there is no "A" on the calendar for May 18 when attempting to select the event date, that means the event has sold out. We hope you'll join us for a future event!
